Fun times!

Once again it's after midnight before I'm posting! Luckily Elizabeth is feeling better and finally slept better too last night! This is how our nights have gone this week: Elizabeth sleeping in our bed next to a humidifier, Little Mark coming in halfway through the night to sleep and then usually just after Mark leaves to go to work, Annie climbs in and half the time falls back asleep or just goes downstairs to steal a piece of bread and comes in to my bed to eat it!
Sometimes Mark is still in bed or he's at the front window waving bye to his Daddy as he goes to work!
I love breakfasts with Mark. He sits quietly and eats all his food so happily. He is a classic morning person.

Today he was saying some really funny things. He likes the movie Turbo and today he was laying on the floor with a group of small fruits and he was talking to them saying ' ok people we have a lot of tomatoes to pick today'. Then when I started vacuuming he protected his 'snails' with his arm and yelled at them to ' tuck and roll, tuck and roll !!'  He also told me I need to get him a motorcycle, very matter of factly. His conversations skills are so fun. He asked me a question that I started answering, then interrupted me to tell Elizabeth something, then when he was done he said ' ok Mom go ahead and finish.' All of the kids speech seems to have gone up a level the past couple weeks and it is seriously so fun!
This morning the girls were playing with Barbies and was being the mommy. Elizabeth asked her if they could say a prayer and Annie said, ya sure! I love seeing spiritual things working into their pretend play!

One of my goals today was to clean our super messy playroom. It was accomplished. But it left me way too hot and I had to sit in front of the fan for 10 minutes to cool down! I wish I had a higher tolerance for hot weather.... But I don't. Never have. And being pregnant makes my intolerance even worse!! I can only blame my Canadian blood for that.

On a different note, after venting my frustrations the other night of the house being a mess, Mark reminded me that the reason every room gets messy is because the children will seek out clean rooms to play in. Not because they are trying to mess with my sanity, but because they thrive in learning /playing in a clean, organized space. He's absolutely right! When I want to learn/concentrate/ play I want the same thing! So with that in mind I started cleaning the playroom and sure enough they flocked to it like a herd of starving pigeons! Somewhat to help me, but mostly to play and be in the same room as me. I had to stop myself many times when I wanted to say ' but I just picked that up and I just organized it'....instead I just smiled as I scrubbed who knows what off the table and realized this is why I'm sweating and cleaning, so my kids can learn through playing. It made me a much happier worker!
Tonight our neighbor came out to water his grass. As soon as he got it set up just right and then went inside , the kids ran to it and started playing!! My kids are like magnets to water! It made me miss Sonya terribly ( we had a great water fight with her last summer) but I'm glad that our new neighbors were kind and easy going and happy to let all the kids play!!

Another day in the life

I can't believe its after midnight already! So I guess technically speaking, yesterday but really still today since I haven't gone to bed yet.....we had an interesting day! Elizabeth had a fever all night and day with a cough and congestion :( it is always super sad when any one of us is sick. Especially in the short summer we have here! We juiced this morning, got lots of rest and are hoping it goes away soon!
This is how sad things are at my house. The kids and I ( mostly I) will clean a room and before it gets messy again ( usually 5 minutes later) I take a picture of it to either text to Mark at work or to look at at the end of the day to remind myself that I really did clean something today!!
Annie came downstairs today wrapped up in one of the babies blankets and so I decided it was probably time to sort through the clothes, which the girls were more than happy to help me with! I could tell all of us were getting excited to meet the baby and Annie even took a break mid way to come and talk to the baby! Once I explained to them what the monitor was, she also tried to communicate with him that way! It was all so cute!!
Lots of snuggles today and the girl that almost never naps, fell asleep with me today!
Then Annie did the same thing 10 minutes later!!
We just couldn't stay inside all day so tonight we went outside and little Mark was finally ready to learn to ride his bike!! Or at least try:)
And I am finally ready to give these outdoor chairs and stool much needed, colorful makeover!!!! Stay tuned for the results. I completed phase 1, sanding!

Summer is here!!

We are back from vacation and summer has definitely arrived at our house this week!! Out came the slip n slide and pool. I soaked my feet while the kids did all kinds of playing and splashing! The neighbors started a water balloon fight and it was awesome! The perfect summer afternoon/evening.

Jumping:
Bathing princesses:
Every time Mark sat or landed in water he would say " awww, that feels nice!"
More jumping:
Trying to catch water:
And a lot of attempts at drinking water! This kept Annie busy for at least 15 minutes!
Kids copying Mom makes for an adorable moment/picture!
Water balloon fight!!
And lots of extra curly hair ( from Annie too!)
