Canada Day Part 2
>> Wednesday, August 8, 2012
We got all decked out for the big day!!!
Then headed up to main street to watch the parade:
Closest thing we could get to a family picture!
Same with the Long family!!
Waiting and waiting for the parade to start!
Isn't my cousins little girl so CUTE?!!
The twins LOVE marching bands (thanks to an episode of Bubble Guppies) and were very excited to see a real one in person!!!
This was her look most of the beginning of the parade, she warmed up eventually and did a lot of clapping and waving:
They got lots of candy!
Trying to shade Annie, forgot hats, oops!
She got tired and cuddled with Hannah:
And Mark got VERY tired about 10 minutes into the parade and fell asleep on Daddy for the rest of the show!
Annie crashed when we got back to Grandma's:
The twins played in the dirt:
The rest of us get ready and ate a big potluck lunch with our cousins and it was soooooo good and so fun!!! This is a family tradition and every year it is the one thing that makes me miss my grandparents the most. I am so thankful for those memories.
The twins were on the swings and I told Mark to watch Little Mark because I thought he was going to fall asleep...well he ran to chase a kid and came back to see that Mark had indeed fallen asleep, then fallen off the swing, then got hit in the head with the swing!!!!!
Annie woke up and got some dirt time in with Summer:
Maybe a little TOO much dirt time:
At least she's willing to share!!
Elizabeth enjoyed Kettle Korn:
And bubbles...well she actually put her mouth up to the bubbles and couldn't stop doing it, so she probably ate some bubbles too!
I told Elizabeth to go give Annie a water balloon and when she set it down in front of her it just happened to explode and Annie DID NOT enjoy that!!!
The town had a festival going on that night. We danced to some live music:
Watched a hot dog eating contest:
And that was about it, it was a little lame! But then we went back for a fire and roasting marshmallows (look at how red Scott's legs are... he was SOOOO burnt!):
Then at 11 it was time for fireworks!!!! I don't have time to fix the pictures, sorry!
We decided at the last minute to wake up Elizabeth and I'm so glad we did because it may have been the highlight of their trip!!!!!!
Mark was cracking us up because he kept cheering so loud when the fireworks would go off!
