5 months old!!!!!

>> Thursday, November 17, 2011

I spent nearly an hour last night perfecting Annie's 5 month post and then blogger crashed and I laid on the floor and cried, and yelled something that could've included the word h-e-double hockey sticks!!!!! It was 11:45 pm so I only had 15 minutes before her 5 month birthday would be over and I just couldn't get it to work! Mark always tells me to compose it on Word and then paste it in but he was smart enough not to say that when I was throwing a fit last night:)

So, it's a day late but here we go. Annie is like a slice of heaven that got served up to us at exactly the right time! We are so in love with her. She is patient and happy and smiley. Thank goodness she is patient. She will only cry when you have done something awful to her like hit her with a toy (twins) or put off feeding her a little too long (mommy) or...well, I guess daddy doesn't do much to make her sad! We are so lucky to have her, SO LUCKY!!!!!!!

She rolls over from stomach to back but not the other way yet. We have caught her a couple times on her stomach pulling her legs in and sticking her bum in the air like she wants to crawl! Of course she isn't doing it by the time I go and get the camera:) She loves to stand now, it's her favorite thing. She will smile and talk to anyone that looks at her long enough. She talks and squeals and makes all kinds of funny noises. She does this really sweet thing before falling asleep where she 'sings' to herself! I love it. She still loves to sleep in her swing but is in her crib at bedtime and for her 1st nap of the day. She always sleeps on her back with her head turned all the way to the left so her chubby little cheek is resting on the mattress!! And always with her purple blanket that Grandma B sewed for her.

She hasn't really tried solids yet and we have finally found a bottle that she likes! Now if we could just get her to enjoy formula. I am amazed at her hand eye coordination and how quickly she learns things. She is really smart and really fast! She loves Mark and Elizabeth and will watch them all the time. She LOVES bath time with Daddy and that he lets her grab his hair and face for 10 minutes afterwards, apparently Daddy's are a sensory wonderland!! I thinks it's Mark's favorite time with her. She also seems to be developing a love for books like her siblings. She kicks and gets real excited every time! We love, love, love our Annie girl!!!!!

Here are pictures and video showing just how much we ALL enjoy spending time with her!
All the kids like it when I bring out the mirror. One morning they were all lollying around and it was so cute:
Mark playing peek a boo with himself:
Watch Mark at the end:
And then later that night she showed of with us when Daddy got home:

Since Day 1 Little Mark has shown lots of affection for Annie. Elizabeth is just starting to do that she wasn't real mean to her, she just didn't pay a whole lot of attention to Annie (or Anna as she insists on calling her:)! She always makes sure that she has at least one toy in her lap and then sometimes I will catch her getting real close to her face and smiling! It's so cute! Here's a moment from yesterday, staring at each other, holding hands, touching toes, and a video of Annie watching Elizabeth work the blocks, it's all so cute!!!!!
We then had a competition to see who could make Annie laugh the most just before her bath. She got a little shy when the camera came out but not too much!

This smart little thing has been sitting in this bouncer since the day she was born and can already reach up and pull down the singing frog!!!

Annie's new toys

>> Monday, November 14, 2011

We weren't sure if Annie would be big enough for the jumper yet but thought it was time for us to try. She keeps standing up now when you hold her on your lap and smiles so big, she's so proud of herself (it helps that my voice gets really high and I cheer her on!)!! The twins were just as excited as she was to see this new toy, or in their case, return of the toy! Mark kept rocking/shaking it for her and giving her 'rides' in it and Elizabeth went around and showed her what everything did! And look....her toes totally touch the ground!!!! We still had to put a pillow under the twins feet when they got it in it, Mark says it's the extra weight Annie has!!
Elizabeth is SO EXCITED!!!!!
Then we remembered one of the twins favorite things was to stare/shake and attempt to chew on a Mylar balloon!! So we picked up two of them this weekend and let Annie go at it. SHE LOVES IT!!!!!!! Best baby toy ever.
Please excuse the skin you see below, that girl looks for any reason to take her shirt off! It got wet, dirty or Mark's got wet and dirty and he got to take his off so obviously she does too!
