What?!!! 39 Weeks?! It's been an eventful (but not eventful enough) week! Last Tuesday morning I started feeling contractions that went all day, into the night and got to be 5 minutes apart. I went in to the hospital at 3 am to get checked out and I wasn't really dilated...so they gave me something to help me sleep and sent me home telling me to come back when they are longer and hurt more! So we went home and the contractions slowed down and I SLEPT!!!! Most of the day thanks to Mark...it was the most sleep I've gotten in months and it felt SO GOOD!
Then on Thursday I went in for my Dr's appointment and my blood pressure was high:( Really high, but not high enough that they had to keep me and do a c-section luckily. With no other signs of preeclampsia they sent me home and told me to monitor it at home and come back Monday, unless it got to be bad. The Dr. also scheduled me for a C-section on Tuesday morning at 7 am just in case. But my blood pressure was great all weekend, despite all the walking and heat and fun we had and it was still good when I went in early Monday morning to the Dr.
I was also dilated to 2 cm and the baby's head had dropped!!!! My Dr. felt happy that I was progressing and since Sunday night had been having more contractions and a lot of lower back pain. So we cancelled the C-section (yay!) and I kept having contractions throughout Monday and Monday night but then they tapered off again on Tuesday! For the most part I just feel crampy and have lower back pain. I am definitely at the point where I just want the labor to go away or keep going....I am officially ready to get the birthing party started!! All day Monday and Tuesday I was seriously happy when I would feel a contraction, who knew I would ever want to be in pain so badly?! With the twins I did EVERYTHING possible to NOT go into labor, hello..bed rest for 2 months anyone?! And now with this baby I am trying everything to start labor! It's a bit weird for me. And I am not sure what to do, I know I need rest for labor but since labor feels like it's never coming I am trying to keep moving so that baby girl doesn't get too comfy! I know she can't stay in there forever right? She has to come out at some point?!
The tricky part is that since I'm attempting a VBAC I can't be induced, at all. So everything has to progress on it's own and I'm hoping that happens but it seems like now a days almost every woman gets help in some way or another! Feel free to leave any tips for me, I'll be going to the Dr. tomorrow for a check up and I'll be 40 weeks on Sunday. The Dr. said if I go a week past my due date he has to do a C-section. Here's to hoping this girl decides to join us before then! We are so excited to meet her, hold her, love her, kiss her, introduce her to the world and to all the people who already love her and can't wait to see her!!
Yesterday Elizabeth was getting in her cuddles with me, she was next to me, sitting on me or by me all day long! But she showed Daddy some love too...I was laying on the bed talking to Mark on speaker phone and Elizabeth was sitting as close to my face as possible without actually sitting on it and was pretending to talk on my cell phone. She kept saying hi over and over and so I told her to say Hi Dada....and she did!!!!!! Her 1st 2 word sentance! Then when he come home 10 minutes later and walked in the door she said Dada! It was her first time saying and recognizing him. She obviously can say his name if we tell her to and point to him if we ask but this was her first time doing it as he walked in the room all by herself! Way to go Elizabeth!!
Here is a picture of me, all swollen up and everything at 39 weeks!
