Dance Class!!!

>> Sunday, January 6, 2013

In September I started Mark and Elizabeth in a dance class. I thought it would be good for them to learn how to take instruction, follow directions, be around other kids and most importantly because they LOVE to dance!!! It focuses more on ballet. They both were crazy shy for the first month or so. Then Little Mark broke out of his shell and realized that it was fun! Elizabeth is still hit and miss. Some days she does good, other days she just wants to sit and watch. We love this dance studio and we love the teachers!! We have two because one has cancer and has to go in for treatments, therefore missing class some weeks. They are both incredibly patient and energetic with the kids!!
Here is Elizabeth jumping on the trampoline:
Mark on the trampoline
Mark waiting his turn. And can you see that bite mark on his cheek from Elizabeth?!!
At the end of class they have to sit and put their hands on their head to get a stamp! The kids all love it!
Our pretty ballerina!!
So....I have only had to take Annie to class with me one time, usually my neighbor Sonya watches her for me. This is also the day I remembered my camera and got some pretty funny pictures of her! First of all I was trying to get Mark to look at the camera but he was doing his 'look' in the mirror!!
There is our little dancer!! And the girl on the end is our neighbor friend Aubrey!!
Here is Annie giving the other girl a dirty look!! Annie loved class so much I had to drag her out at the end, she was having so much fun dancing to the music!

Color Time

Occasionally I will tape down a big piece of kraft paper and let the kids go crazy coloring it. This particular morning was pretty fun and I had to document some of it!
Little Mark loves to have all the colors to himself and to organize them just so:

He also thought of creative ways to play with the lids!
Annie has just as much fun if not more putting the crayons in and out of the box!

Mark was making a ugggghhh sound every time he would pull a lid on and off, it is pretty funny!
Practicing horizontal and vertical lines and circles!
Just being her cute little self!!
Her smiles melt me!!

HALLOWEEN 2012

Try not to blow up my blog people....but I am FINALLY BACK!!!!!!! Whew, that was a record hiatus for us. Sorry about that.

We have to go all the way back to Halloween! And what is that flying through the air, a bird, a plane, no it's the Wonderpets!!!!!
And Elizabeth as Linny the guinea pig

 Annie as Ming Ming Duck
Using teamwork already to get that hat on right!

And...well...Turtle Tuck is around here somewhere, he doesn't like to sit still for pictures!

We full on celebrated Halloween this year. We went to as many parties as we could manage and wore our costumes out! We went to the Little Gym party with the Schutlz's. Their little CC is the same age as Annie and they even had the SAME costume on!!!

I don't like to think about this....but we had the most frightening thing happen at this party. There were so, so, so many people and kids there. When we first arrived it was so overwhelming and I thought that Mark had Little Mark, he thought I had him as he went to go put our coats away. Next thing I know, Little Mark is gone! We were looking, the Schultz's were looking, the workers were searching and it was so hard to find him because all the kids were in costumes and there were so many of them. Finally after probably only 3 minutes Rochelle found him near the front door. He had ran outside in the parking lot looking for us! The owner happened to see him, brought him in and then our friend Rochelle found him. They closed the doors after that. It was the only time we have ever lost a child and it was AWFUL! I hope that never, ever, ever happens again. And I am so thankful he was ok.

Then there was our church Halloween Party. We got there late and missed out on most of the trunk or treating:( But, we still had a good time inside!
Mark and Annie had a good time beating the 'snakes' on the head, those poor boys that volunteered!
I have no idea why they are crawling on the floor, but it sure made for a cute picture!
There was also face painting and it was our first time giving it a try. Annie was fearless and got a star:
And Mark got a white one, which he promptly wiped off as soon as it was done!
Elizabeth wasn't into the face painting. And this party wiped Annie out!!
Then we had our twin mommy friend Michelle's party. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! She is super creative and had tons of activities for the kids to do. She is just the cutest.
We actually forgot Annie's costume at her house and didn't realize it until Halloween night! So she didn't get to wear her costume to go trick or treating:( But we did have her cape!! Mark and Elizabeth caught on very quickly to the whole trick or treating thing and loved it! Elizabeth kept asking for more trick and treats!

Here are a few videos. The first one is Annie ruling the costume runway at the Little Gym party. Notice the shove she gives to the kid who is in her way!
