The zoo

In another attempt at living up the weekend we decided to go to the zoo on Saturday morning! We have a yearly pass and we felt confident after the success of the fair that we could go to the zoo with all 3 kids too! It went well although the animals were a bit boring this time around, therefore, not that many pictures were taken. We had a great time though and enjoyed soaking up the sun! We managed to get a cute picture of Annie at the zoo:

And Mark climbing this thing:

The penguins were 1 of 2 exciting animals. The twins loved to sit by the window and watch them swim by!

Although you can't see the elephant it was exciting because the zoo keeper came and did a presentation and the elephant was out (more than can be said for most of the animals, guess they were hot too...the orangutan was sleeping with a burlap sac over his head!) and getting in the water and eating stuff. The twins were somewhat interested but mostly wanted to run around. So we let them! They tired themselves out and we had a great day!

FINALLY!!!! They did so good tonight drinking water out of their cups, we've been working for so long and it usually ends up all over them (even though we only put a tiny bit in) or they put food in it, or dump it on their tray and splash it...the list could go on but for tonight anyway, they used it properly! My babies look so grown up, sigh.

The Fair

We actually made it to the Evergreen State Fair last Friday! We were all excited to get out of the house after being cooped up all week. It was the 1st fair for all 3 kids and Mark and Elizabeth LOVED seeing all the animals!! They were too small for rides this year so next up on their list of favorite things to see was the live band playing old country western music! We clapped and shouted yeehaw and woohoo (well I shouted, they clapped and smiled cutely). The following pictures are almost useless and are mearly being posted for memories sake! In almost all of the pictures you either see part of their face, like with the sheep:

This one is a little clearer since she doesn't move around as much as the twins! While I fed this girly in the goat barn (I think I should've moved into the cow barn, would've felt a little more at home with my fellow milking cows!), the twins and Mark moved on to goats and pigs:

Then we all went and saw the cows and baby cows:

Then their most favorite part of all was walking into the building that housed the roosters, bunnies and dogs! The roosters were really loud and the kids loved it! Mark says cockoo for cockadoodledoo. We could've stayed in this section for an hour and looked at all the different kinds of roosters and chickens:

And finally dogs! They got to pet several different kinds of dogs:

It was a great trip, nice and hot which after our lame summer felt really good! We look forward to going again next year!!
