So I knew that Mark was going to be gone ALL day on Thursday and would most likely miss bedtime too. We were both thinking about it and we believe it is the first time that he would have gone an entire day without seeing them at all!! How crazy is that? He (or I) have never not seen our kids for more than 24 hours!
Anyways, I was prepared with LOTS of things to do and the kids happily obliged my activities! We ended up having SO MUCH FUN!!! We are talking serious amounts of fun people, serious. The kids were so well behaved all day long. Just thinking back on it makes me smile. I will never forget how nice this day was. I know it was Heavenly Father blessing our little family as Mark did his calling and took the Young Men to the temple. It's not always peaceful, in fact when Mark is gone doing his church stuff it's usually really hard, like Heavenly Father is testing us to see how much faith we really have! But not on March 15th.
I was feeling very arts and crafty this day and cut out some 4 leaf clovers for the kids to color with their markers:

I had cut some out of cardboard too and let them use these bingo markers filled with washable tempura paint:

They LOVED this!!!!

Then I got brave and allowed them to use paint with paint brushes!! They had such a great time, they kept saying ' so fun!':

The only way I could get them away from the paint was to promise a bath with their Little People animals! We had a loooong and very entertaining bath, which set them up perfectly for lunch and a nap:)
After they woke up from their naps I carried them both downstairs and when we came around the corner I had this invitation set up for them:

A picnic with their stuffed animals!! They both smiled SO big and couldn't wait to play! They laughed and thought this was the best! Even Mark got really into it and he has yet to show much interest in imaginative play. This even kept them occupied long enough that I could make dinner!

Then like a gift from heaven, the sun came out right as I started dinner!!!! It had been pouring all day long. As soon as we finished dinner we made a run for the park!

Where we ran into our friend Aubrey and they splashed in this mud puddle. It's Elizabeth's favorite thing to do. When it's raining outside she just asks to go outside so she can splash in the puddles!

And this little teething baby was SO GOOD all day!!!!!!!!! Doesn't this picture just melt your little heart?!

Mark came home and lucky for him arrived just a couple minutes after I put the kids to bed. Elizabeth was still asking for Daddy and he went in to give them both BIG hugs!! So I guess neither one of us has yet to go an entire day without seeing our kids:)
