The Flu Round 2

>> Thursday, January 12, 2012

The day after we got home from Christmas vacation Little Mark threw up twice and the flu was in full effect around here! Luckily it has only hit the twins and not the rest of us, fingers crossed! My poor kids were so sick though, they had no energy and it was such an effort for them to eat and drink just a little bit. It was hard for all of us to stay at home, for a full week without any play dates or trips outside! I did my best to keep them entertained...here is some of what we did this past week:

Tried on my hats:
Annie bounced and stayed far away from Mark and Elizabeth:
We played with EVERY. SINGLE. TOY. we could find in the house:
Including some we got for Christmas! Elizabeth got washable markers in her stocking and they were SO excited to use them! I taped up a huge piece of packing paper on the wall and let them go crazy! I love in this picture that Elizabeth has picked up the very bottom edge to draw on and that Mark is laying on his stomach!
She can be very serious about her drawing. She is good at doing circles and lines and tries really hard to do hearts.
Admiring her work:
Mark is good at circles and lines too:
But he got even more excited when he realized he could draw on himself too!!
I just noticed that they aren't wearing any pants in most of these pictures...you know you have the flu in your house when.....

I found the perfect bench to go by our front door and Mark got a lot of help putting it together:
The past 3 days have been WONDERFUL as both of them are fully recovered from the flu bug!!!! They have been eating like CRAZY!! Literally non stop, they even wake up in the night asking for crackers and milk! All that weight lost should come back quickly. So happy they are feeling better!

Big Ole' Christmas wrap up!

>> Tuesday, January 10, 2012

I need to quickly wrap up our wonderful Christmas so I can continue posting about the fun we have been up to lately!! So in Canada we didn't take a lot of pictures but I think we took a lot of video...so sometime soon I will have to sort through that and post. For now in no particular order here is some of how we spent our holiday!

Elizabeth warmed up to Kaufusi and gave him kisses:
We played a lot of cards, mostly SCUM, it got a little crazy sometimes and it was A LOT OF FUN! We also danced the night away on the Kinect, again, super fun!
??????
Cass, Karrie and my awesome nieces and nephews volunteered to babysit so that Mark and I could go in to dinner. It was AWESOME being able to leave at the worst time of day (5:00 pm) and sit in silence....that is until the way home when we hit a deer!!! Luckily no one was hurt (well besides the deer), our van was damaged but we could still drive it, phew!

When did my nephew grow up and get all handsome looking??
The twins loved playing with Hannah's play doh and now that we are home are totally bored with our selection...thanks a lot Hannah, now we have to get them the same thing for their birthday!
Annie hung out with her cousins and was TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY spoiled, loved, kissed, hugged, tickled, sang to and rocked! The only time she was unhappy was the first 5 minutes we arrived...she was asleep in the car and when I brought her inside she was FREAKED out by all the people!!! It literally lasted 5 minutes though and then she was all smiles!!!!
Dance parties:
Izaak teaching Mark how to break dance!
The crew ringing in the NEW YEAR!!!! We missed you Anna, Jake and Cass!
That ginger ale will get ya crazy! On a side note, we had the yummiest food that night, thanks Angela for being in charge of all that delicousness!!
Then it was time to head home:( Overall the kids did really well in the car but are totally hooked on Wonderpets now. We need to have a Wonderpets detox week! While leaving Cranbrook we stopped at Tim Hortons for lunch and timbits, it was the twins first time and they ate them happily:
Actually Mark didn't quite make it through his without falling asleep! In fact he woke up a little bit late for a second and we saw that he still had donut in his mouth!!
He had some funny sleeping positions too:
Here is the sunrise as we were leaving Raymond, so sad to say goodbye, to my family too:)
Happy Annie!!!
Books and sleep!!
Things were ok until we got about an hour from home and ran into this mess in the pass:
This (snow) caused an extra hour of time and the kids and mommy WERE NOT HAPPY!! We all wanted out of that car!!

Thanks everyone for all that you did for us, all the gifts, the help, the food, the good times. We love you all!!!!!
