We are late, in fact tomorrow she will be 7 months old so I guess I'm just barely making it! We took her in right before Christmas and then things got a bit crazy while we were on vacation and what not! Anyways...here is what our little Annie has been up to while being 6 months old!!
When Annie turned 6 months old she couldn't sit up on her own, she didn't have 2 bottom teeth, she couldn't have an afternoon nap in anywhere but her swing and she couldn't pick up food and feed herself....but she sure can now!!!!!!!!!! This month has been so eventful for Annie! She also celebrated her first Christmas, New Years and took her first trip to Canada! She did so amazing while we traveled. Annie is not a picky eater yet, she will eat ANYTHING. She has tried oatmeal with cinnamon, rice cereal, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, applesauce, pears, bananas, homemade bread, cheerios and puffs. And loves them all. Thank goodness!! She does a combo of nursing and bottles since my supply has been a little low. She is flexible and we love that! Although while she has been teething she doesn't what anything to do with the bottle and just wants to nurse! She also doesn't like to eat much, doesn't smile all the time like she normally does and definitely doesn't sleep as well.
Annie will sleep 11-12 hours at night, waking up once or twice. She will go right back to sleep! She takes 3 naps a day usually, sometimes 2. She always sleeps on her back and does the exact same thing every time I lay her down. She cranks her head towards the door and sprawls her arm out in the same direction! It's so cute!! She loves to sing herself to sleep and still twirls her hair while eating, again, so cute! Feeding and putting her to sleep is so fun. The other night she was eating and I was singing to her. She would stop eating go 'aaaaahhhh' and then start eating again!! She did it twice and it was hilarious!
Annie has not learned to crawl yet. We have to bribe her to stay on her tummy for longer than 2 minutes at a time! She will not roll over on to her tummy either. She likes to sit up and I've noticed her scoot around a little on her bum too! She will be in one area of her play mat and then another a little later. Owell, the Dr. told us that babies who don't like tummy time usually end up crawling and walking later. We'll see if she proves him wrong or not!!
Annie is ALWAYS happy!!! Always smiling at everyone and when she wakes up from naps and in the morning she NEVER cries. Ever. We have to listen for her talking instead. She LOVES Mark and Elizabeth. It's a little different with her because with the twins I was their only source of entertainment, but most of the time now Annie prefers to watch and play with Mark and Elizabeth than me or Daddy!! Sometimes I am jealous but mostly it's just so stinkin' cute to watch that I just laugh and my heart gets all warm and tingly. She also loves her toys, she will play by herself with her toys for a really, really long time. She is such a good baby!!!!
We love our little Annie. She truly is a ray of sunshine for us. When things are crazy with the twins I look at her, she smiles and then everything is ok. It's hard to be grumpy when she's around! In fact, when the twins were sick with the flu they would come over to me crying and Annie would smile so big at them it would make them mad and they would try to hit her! Like she was teasing them or something?! I don't know why it made them so mad! She just can't help but smile. We love you to pieces Annie!!!!
