7 MONTHS!

>> Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Our baby Annie is 7 months old today!!!!! She was the first one up today and Little Mark woke up soon after. I told him to go and say Good Morning Annie so he did and I was across the hallway doing laundry. The two of them were giggling at each other like crazy! I don't know what was so funny but it was a cute way to start the day! All day today she has been doing this little giggle every time Mark and Elizabeth are around, she sure LOVES them!! And we love her.

Playing with Ice

I found this idea one day from one of my favorite blogs, Play at Home Mom. I can ALWAYS find something on there to do with my kids, it is an amazing site! This was something we did when the kids were sick. A container of ice, food coloring and salt (we eventually added pepper so that they could both shake something, they love containers that involve shaking, sprinkles, cinnamon, etc). Yes food coloring stains, but it came right off the floors and I payed very close attention to where it was going. And we took a HUGE bath after this and after about a week the stains on their skin went away:)
They loved coloring, stirring, scooping and dumping ice!

The weekend.

We had a successful and fun weekend! Here's what went down:

Annie moved into a highchair and out of her bumbo for meal time!!!!
The kids all read books together:
Until Annie decided to steal Mark's, she's a bully that way sometimes!
Then we got dumped on with snow! About 6-8 inches!! It was/is beautiful and the kids were excited to build a snowman. We don't normally get very cold weather here, so we were a little short on winter clothes. Luckily Elizabeth's cousin Summer had given us some clothes and so she was bundled up in lots of warm stuff:
Mark on the other hand needed to have some tighter pants on underneath to serve as long johns, then some joggers over that and then socks pulled up over the joggers and a wool sweater with his coat. He looked a bit funny and in looking back on it today I should've put him in the brown snow pants because all Elizabeth did was stand like this and look cute:
Well so did Mark for about 10 minutes but when a dog came by he was off and running and then spent the rest of the time playing with kids and running around!
Daddy made snow angels:
And gave short snowboard rides to Mark only, Elizabeth cried after about 5 seconds.
And built this HUGE snowman!!
The kids were ready to come in after an hour of playing and we let them try some hot chocolate. All Mark heard was the word chocolate and he came RUNNING inside!!! It was a success, even when I later added marshmallows!
And if that wasn't enough excitement somehow Mark was able to tile this bathroom (our main floor bathroom) in one weekend too! It's because the kids were playing so nicely. Here is what the bathroom looked like when we moved in:
We painted walls quite a while ago, I just don't remember if we blogged about it:
And here is last night's photo! The floors are wet from being mopped up but you get the end result:
Whew, that was a great weekend! We had a couple other cute things happen too, I'll share those with you later!!

Annie at 6 months

Annie Sophia:
15 lbs. 11 oz (45th %)
26.25 in (50th %)

We are late, in fact tomorrow she will be 7 months old so I guess I'm just barely making it! We took her in right before Christmas and then things got a bit crazy while we were on vacation and what not! Anyways...here is what our little Annie has been up to while being 6 months old!!

When Annie turned 6 months old she couldn't sit up on her own, she didn't have 2 bottom teeth, she couldn't have an afternoon nap in anywhere but her swing and she couldn't pick up food and feed herself....but she sure can now!!!!!!!!!! This month has been so eventful for Annie! She also celebrated her first Christmas, New Years and took her first trip to Canada! She did so amazing while we traveled. Annie is not a picky eater yet, she will eat ANYTHING. She has tried oatmeal with cinnamon, rice cereal, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, applesauce, pears, bananas, homemade bread, cheerios and puffs. And loves them all. Thank goodness!! She does a combo of nursing and bottles since my supply has been a little low. She is flexible and we love that! Although while she has been teething she doesn't what anything to do with the bottle and just wants to nurse! She also doesn't like to eat much, doesn't smile all the time like she normally does and definitely doesn't sleep as well.

Annie will sleep 11-12 hours at night, waking up once or twice. She will go right back to sleep! She takes 3 naps a day usually, sometimes 2. She always sleeps on her back and does the exact same thing every time I lay her down. She cranks her head towards the door and sprawls her arm out in the same direction! It's so cute!! She loves to sing herself to sleep and still twirls her hair while eating, again, so cute! Feeding and putting her to sleep is so fun. The other night she was eating and I was singing to her. She would stop eating go 'aaaaahhhh' and then start eating again!! She did it twice and it was hilarious!

Annie has not learned to crawl yet. We have to bribe her to stay on her tummy for longer than 2 minutes at a time! She will not roll over on to her tummy either. She likes to sit up and I've noticed her scoot around a little on her bum too! She will be in one area of her play mat and then another a little later. Owell, the Dr. told us that babies who don't like tummy time usually end up crawling and walking later. We'll see if she proves him wrong or not!!

Annie is ALWAYS happy!!! Always smiling at everyone and when she wakes up from naps and in the morning she NEVER cries. Ever. We have to listen for her talking instead. She LOVES Mark and Elizabeth. It's a little different with her because with the twins I was their only source of entertainment, but most of the time now Annie prefers to watch and play with Mark and Elizabeth than me or Daddy!! Sometimes I am jealous but mostly it's just so stinkin' cute to watch that I just laugh and my heart gets all warm and tingly. She also loves her toys, she will play by herself with her toys for a really, really long time. She is such a good baby!!!!

We love our little Annie. She truly is a ray of sunshine for us. When things are crazy with the twins I look at her, she smiles and then everything is ok. It's hard to be grumpy when she's around! In fact, when the twins were sick with the flu they would come over to me crying and Annie would smile so big at them it would make them mad and they would try to hit her! Like she was teasing them or something?! I don't know why it made them so mad! She just can't help but smile. We love you to pieces Annie!!!!
