I haven't been blogging because my kids have been too busy torturing their visiting grandparents:
And I have been too busy letting them! We have family in town until Monday and then I will get caught up, we've been having tons of fun and getting in a lot of bonding time. Nothing is better than family!!

Crazy kids

>> Monday, March 28, 2011

Our neighbors have a dog that the kids love to watch. The other day he was on his leash and so I decided to let them go out and say hi. They haven't been around very many dogs and I wanted to see what they would do. The dog ran into to see what was going on and Mark was petting him (nicely) and Elizabeth just stood there doing her excited laugh....but not touching the dog! It was pretty cute! We then went outside where Mark ate more dirt and leaves and Elizabeth sat in the mud. Good times around here!!
Every once in a while we look over at Elizabeth and she's doing this:
In fact just this morning when I went in to see why she wasn't falling asleep for her nap she was doing this in her crib and didn't even move when I came over to get her!! Crazy girl! She had me laughing today because I put Mark in the laundry basket for her to push around and every time he would stand up she would grab his shirt or push on the top of his head to make him sit down so that she could keep pushing him, I guess she thought it was against the rules to stand while being pushed!! She also likes to shake her head no when she's about to do or is thinking about doing something bad! Thanks for being such a crazy, funny but good girl!

Not to be outdone by his sister, Little Mark has been up to some crazy things too lately. The following video is what he does when Mark comes home from work, he is convinced that he is eating Mark's hair, even though he isn't, he will just keep pulling it anyway....this kid will put ANYTHING in his mouth!!! It is so funny, I laugh myself to tears every time!

Not only does he pick at hair like a monkey but he also calls 911 and eats Tums. Yup, you read that right, we believe in high quality parenting around here but seriously, this kid is good!!! On Saturday morning I was packing up some baby clothes and Mark was in the living room with Little Mark, the story goes:
Little Mark grabbed the phone (that we normally keep way out of his reach/sight) and had it for about 3 seconds before Mark took it from him, 3 seconds was all he needed to somehow call 911 who then called us back to ask what our emergency was!! Can you say embarrassing?! But wait, it gets worse. About 10 minutes later a cop knocks on our door to ask if everything is ok!!! I had only gotten Elizabeth dressed for the day and Little Mark was still in his white onesie and as soon as the door opened he made a run for it, right to the police officer!! Can you say white trash?! Most embarrassing parental moment thus far for sure.

Then tonight he somehow figured out how to open my Tums bottle and eat some! They love to shake the bottle and I let them because they have never tried to actually open it...luckily there were only a few left in there and he only had about 2 of them which Mark was able to fish out of his mouth rather quickly! He has been in a very curious mood today, I should've figured...he spent 30 minutes playing with all my shoes and getting into all my purses in my closet this morning, luckily he only came across a pen! He makes us laugh all the time!

A little bit of Spring

Over the next few weeks we will have some family coming to visit and most of them are coming from cold places where spring has not showed it's beautiful face yet....so this post is just to get them excited about what they will find here in our neck of the woods! Of course the sun was shining when we decided to go for a walk but by the time we got everyone ready it was starting to rain!
Not that you're coming for the flowers or anything but I thought I would get you even more excited about coming all this way to visit us!!!!

Reading time

>> Sunday, March 27, 2011

Before naps I put them in Elizabeth's crib to look at books and wrestle together. They LOVE to wrestle with each other and they are pretty rough, Elizabeth goes for Mark's eyes and for some reason thinks it's hilarious to put her fingers in his mouth, even if he occasionally bites them! Mark is getting good at jumping on her back, which she hates and putting her head in a leg lock, a move he inherits from my dad. So I left them alone for a minute and it soon got really quiet, so I went in to see what they were doing:
Sharing a book! Apparently Mark was in charge of turning the pages. It was way too cute!! I love that they love books so much!
