My kids are growing up, sigh.

Ok I'm not sure why I haven't been blogging much lately. I think it's because we got new cell phones for Christmas and we keep taking lots of pictures and video on them and Mark hasn't shown me how to upload them to the computer...so today you get the one picture I found on our camera!

Last Saturday we went to Kenzie and Lexie's birthday party! They are 2 and we get to hang out with them almost every week! They are so cute and all the kids get along with each other pretty well. The birthday party was SO MUCH FUN!!! They ran and played in the gym with all the toys (Mark does have a bruise on his eye from getting clobbered from a bigger kid, but he's tough) and then it was off to eat cupcakes and color. As we all know, Mark LOVES cupcakes and after 4 or 5 we cut him off and he just ran around yelling more CAKE... more CAKE... more CAKE!!!! The goodie bags had lots of fun things in them, like the glasses and necklaces Mark is wearing:

We have a birthday party planned for the twins and are so excited to celebrate!!!!! I have been crying on and off for the past month just thinking about my tiny preemie babies turning 2. Seriously, 2? I have been cherishing moments with them in their last days as 1. Like, how I walked in the room yesterday and heard Mark say/singing "Happy Birthday to you" as clear as can be! And how when the two of them sit on the couch to watch TV they sit as close as possible, and if one moves to the other end, the other one follows. If one changes position, so does the other...and so on. Or how they are always asking me where the other one is. And that Mark still comes running to me (and only me, not Daddy) to kiss his owies better. That he can ask for things nicely by saying please and lifting his shoulder up and cocking his head down to rest on it and then smiles all cute. Elizabeth does the same thing but without the shoulder head move and an irresistibly huge smile!

On Tuesday night I put all the kids to bed because Mark wasn't here and when I went back in to check on the twins who were supposed to be sleeping they both wanted up for another snuggle. So I heaved those two angels up and stood there rocking them for as long as my back could hold out!! I cried. And then put them down because just as Elizabeth was in my belly she couldn't resist pushing Mark around!!

Now for Annie. Did you know she is 7 months? 7 MONTHS!! She is now closer to turning 1 and I can't believe it! My baby is going to be 1 in 4.5 months. Holy smokes! Her newest thing is that when she is sitting up on the floor and sees something she wants she will lean all the way forward, turn one of her legs out and then reach as far as she can! Sometimes she ends up face planting the carpet, especially when she was first learning this technique but now's she's kind of got it down. And her little pincer grasp is coming along too, a little too well if you ask me! We have officially entered the 'I have to have the floors clean ALL THE TIME' phase!!! She has already put in cracker crumbs, and I hate to say it sock lint (ewwww, I can explain this one, I was doing laundry and Mark got new socks that have terrible shedding problems, Annie is my afternoon laundry assistant and that's how it happened) in her mouth, don't worry I retrieved that one before she swallowed it! She still refuses to crawl and I'm pretty sure she is going to skip that one all together, she is too resourceful and smart sitting on her bottom. She rotates herself around when sitting and laying on her back.

Breakfast with a monkey

Elizabeth has become so into playing with her stuffed animals. She was so attached to her bottles and when we weaned her of that we pushed stuffed animals on her and she LOVE, LOVE, LOVES THEM!!! There are 2 in particular right now that she must have with her all the time (especially when she sleeps), her blanket of course, the rabbit and the monkey (which I originally purchased for Mark but he could care less for stuffed animals, at least right now anyway!). A couple weeks ago she decided that she didn't want to take a nap so I brought her on my bed and for the next 30 or 40 minutes her and I played pretend with her bunny and monkey! It was so fun. I had to record this morning's breakfast because she still gets this huge smile and a look in her eyes like 'this is silly, awesome and is this ok mom?' all at the same time!! Today monkey had to get lotion on after Elizabeth's bath, he had to get dressed (it worked to get Elizabeth clothed this morning, thank you very much monkey!), he had to get kisses on his feet because that is where she got her owie...the list could go on and on, it's a lot of fun though!! And her smile just melts me, it's the best when her nose wrinkles up, that's when you know she's REALLY smiling!
