Annie and her cup

I've been struggling lately to get enough milk for Miss Annie, mostly at the end of the day. She really, really doesn't like a bottle so, naturally we googled it and someone suggested that we try using a cup. We were so desperate one night that we went ahead kind of jokingly to see if it would work.....AND IT DID!!!! This girl can slurp up that formula like a champ! It's so cute to see, I just had to get some video of it. So proud of my little baby!

Annie rolls over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At exactly 19 weeks old our little Annie rolled over!!!!!!!!! Note that I didn't say 'rolled over for the first time' it was just the first time we watched her do it! She has rolled over a couple times over the past 2 days but always when we weren't looking. Yesterday I was literally sitting right next to her on the floor and when I turned my head to help Little Mark (I would say it was less than 10 seconds) she had rolled over! So sneaky! She did it tonight while laying on the floor with Daddy and the twins running around. I was on the phone with my mom. It was so exciting, as you can tell from the video:)

A Pool of Fun!

On Wednesday the twins woke up with runny noses and were just not feeling good. We stayed inside all day and after stabbing our play dough with everything I could find in the kitchen(chopsticks, screw shaped pasta noodles, forks, etc) I decided it was time to make a mess with rice! This $10 pool has been a great buy, we've had tons of fun in it even if we only used it a handful of times for it's actual purpose (still mad that we had such a crummy summer here!)...this time I put some rice in a pan and gave them lots of spoons, cups, bowls to dig and transfer with and they had a great time! Elizabeth did a lot of digging and pouring from one thing to another while Mark was more interested in seeing how it would land when he let it fall out of his hand onto his feet or hair or down his back (I stopped him when he tried to put it down his diaper, in his ear or up his nose!).

And Annie played in the rice too a little bit but also hung out in her bouncer kicking like crazy or next to me on the floor, that is until the twins (mostly Elizabeth) started throwing rice!

After dumping it out they spread it all around, rolled around in it and then started getting a little too crazy so off the pool went!

Sorry for the booger shot, Elizabeth is also getting in at least 2 or 3 teeth, as you can see her shirt is soaked too!

I'm thinking next time we will try beans! I love that they are at least out of the stage where everything goes in their mouth all the time. Mark will experiment here and there but for the most part he has outgrown that.

Pumpkin Carving

We decided this year to carve some pumpkins. It had been so long that I forgot how much work it is! Especially when the 2 kids you are doing it for don't want anything to do with it!!! Owell, it put us in the Halloween spirit and they at least liked the roasted pumpkin seeds!

Here we are at the start of the night, in the garage with our 3 pumpkins ready to go:

After cutting it open we were excited to show them what was inside. The pumpkins have been sitting on our porch for a few weeks now.

After seeing, they both pushed it away and said NO! Go figure, it's a time when I am giving them permission to touch and get dirty and they say no!

I guess offering them something gross to play with was too easy. They prefer to hunt for stuff like that. For example, they hopped down off that chair and found a box of leaves that we hadn't thrown away yet and went to town for the next 30 minutes!

While I picked out pumpkin seeds and Mark cleaned the insides:

And Annie just sat all cute and bundled up, well in this picture she is bundled up but it takes her about 20 seconds to kick off all the blankets and then we wrap her up again!

Oh and her hair is covered in slobber from Little Mark's kisses, she loves it!

And here is what we ended the night with, an owl! We turned out the lights to show them and that made them come over to poke but then they wanted to go back to playing!

Chalkboard Garage

We wanted to do a chalkboard wall somewhere in the house....and Mark came up with the brilliant idea to convert this wall in the garage to one!! We are attempting to convert part of the garage into our new 'outside' area for the winter. The kids haven't really bought into that yet, but they do LOVE this wall!!!

And then we all went at it! It is even fun for Mark and I to play on:) My favorite thing on this wall is that Mark traced their bodies (bottom left) and it looks so funny! It is also a great learning tool for them. They both know how to draw circles and can pick out star and moon shapes. They are starting to figure out some colors too, mostly blue. They get blue and purple mixed up a lot. They are always asking/guessing what color something is and then we have to find something they are wearing that is that color. For example, if they bring us a purple block they ask or look for something purple on their clothes. Mark taught them that. Anyways, it's so fun watching them learn all these new things!!

Cereal anyone?

These 2 are obsessed with having cereal for breakfast now. Their current favorite: Cinnamon Chex.

And I threw this one in to show a couple things. 1. Look how long her hair is getting!!! 2. She loves getting her hair done, even ponytails! Love, love love this girl!!!
