Happy St. Patrick's Day!

>> Thursday, March 17, 2011

I hope my cousin doesn't mind me sharing this.... she has one of the most beautiful voices in the world! This is the perfect song to share today and for me to remember all my Irish ancestors, I even remembered to start the day with the song my Irish Great Grandma loved to sing, 'When Irish Eyes are Smiling', the kids loved it, although they love any music! But back to Danny Boy.... It is my favorite. I listened to it with the kids, Elizabeth started out by singing along, Mark was stomping his feet and then he danced the rest of it with me while I tried not to cry! I tried explaining to them how special this song was and that Erin sang it by Great Grandma/Grandpa Court's gravesite...I realized then that St. Patrick's Day was starting to get a little too sad for me, so we moved on to Yo Gabba Gabba for a few minutes! We love you Erin!!!!!

Peek a boo with Mark

In case you ever wanted to know what it's like to play peek a boo with Mark under the table.....
Such a cutie! His little smile melts me every time, he is soooo spoiled!!

Meals and Smiles

The kids new favorite place to play is behind the chair. Mark was way too into his toys to look up at me but not Elizabeth!

Here is the Elizabeth most of you know and love:
And here is the Elizabeth that WE know and love!!!
These last 2 pictures are exactly what she does when we come to get her out of her crib, come home, walk into the room or just generally look in her direction!!
She has been a bit picky lately with her food so I was happy to discover 2 things that she LOVES....cantaloupe (as you can see below) and Trader Joes Wisconsin Mac n Cheese (not regular mac n cheese, wisconsin)!! She was in the high chair long before and after Mark during this lunch, definitely a first!
She likes to suck on it like a lollipop. I think she's just getting the juice out first and then she eats it.

Walking shoes!!

>> Monday, March 14, 2011

I went to a HUGE sale on Saturday that my twins group puts on twice a year. I found lots of new shoes for my little walkers (ok well Alicia found most of them, thank you Alicia!!).
Here is Mark trying on a pair for the 1st time:
He does ok with them but he needs a lot more practice and he definitely goes faster with them off! Elizabeth was pretty excited as you'll see to try out her new shoes. You may also notice that in her 1st week of walking she's gotten a few bumps and bruises on her forehead, poor girlie!
Off she goes!
Almost falling but not quite....
She does pretty well with her shoes on, she has picked up on walking really quickly and for the first time today she went from sitting on the floor to standing all by herself, she didn't need to crawl over to anyone or anything to help her up! If you can see Mark in the background he has gotten one shoe off, they love to play with their new shoes!

Sippy cup training

>> Sunday, March 13, 2011

For the last week or 2 the kids have been practicing drinking out of their straw cups. They can drink now without choking themselves (most of the time) and it makes us so happy to see! It makes us feel like there is an end in sight with all these bottles! Mark does well drinking straight from the cup but Elizabeth will just blow bubbles:) We usually let them have the straw cups because they can throw them around without making a mess, unless they tip it straight upside down. So here is Mark looking pretty intense drinking his yummy smoothy and Elizabeth being goofy:
He not only finished his smoothie but Elizabeth's too!!
She was into it for a minute:
But decided it was more fun to chew and throw the cup around!
