Kisses!!!!!

>> Thursday, June 16, 2011

The twins will give each other kisses now and it's so cute to see!!! As you can tell Elizabeth's aim is a bit too much for Little Mark:
He prefers a forehead kiss:
But in order to make sure she doesn't move he usually grabs her by the curls on both sides and holds her head still!!!
Daddy's favorite thing in the whole world! Kisses from his little ones!!
There was a phase that Elizabeth went through where she would give all her kisses to me and tease Daddy with one but NEVER give him one...I may regret saying this but he promised her anything and everything for one kiss, even a car at 16!! Elizabeth has that hold on people, not just Daddy. She makes most people work hard for her love and attention!!

16 months old and talking!!!

>> Sunday, June 12, 2011

The twins reached 16 months before baby girl's arrival! They are so much fun and just so we can remember here are some of the words and actions these two can do right now:

Mark knows the following words (including sign):
More
All done
Bye
Dude
Dada
Mama
Light
Where did it go?/ What is that?
No (says Na)
Yes (especially if you ask him a question)
Splash
Uh-oh
Along with a lot of other words that only us parents can understand!

Body parts he knows well:
Hair
Mouth, Teeth and Tongue
Nose
Toes
Belly Button
Bum (kind of, he will do a 'bum drop' every time we ask him where his bum is!)

Mark is so much fun, he usually wakes up happy and ready to go play! He usually makes his first stop at the bookshelf and then works his way to toys. He still eats fast, furious and messy! He loves most anything, especially if it is tomato based (spaghetti, lasagna, etc). He is trying hard to use a spoon but it's just not as quick as his hands. He still prefers to be held while drinking his bottle and lately he's been using one hand to either play with his hair or pull his eyelashes, not sure where that came from! We are somewhat trying to get him to one nap a day and maybe half the days he does the other half he ends up having a short second nap around 3:30 or 4 pm.

He still LOVES music. As soon as I sit down at the computer he comes over and starts dancing and waiting for me to turn on some kind of music! He prefers being outside playing with the neighborhood kids, the rocks, sticks or wondering around and pointing at trees. Today he finally stacked his blocks 3 high!! He likes to figure out how to put things together or how to fit things inside of something. Mark is a very determined young boy. Once he makes up his mind to do something or be done with something, that is it! There is no distracting or persuading him otherwise. This is a quality that I know will serve him well in life!

He is still sweet as can be and free to give kisses (which is sometimes him just laying his head down on your shoulder). He loves Elizabeth and even though they fight over toys sometimes he also shares with her and loves being tickled by her! We love you Mark Mark!!!!

Elizabeth knows the following words:
Hi
Grandma
Mama
Dada
Book
More
All done
Fish
Dude
Where did it go?
Up
Yes
No
Bye
Boo (as in peek a boo)
Splash
Along with a lot more that only us parents can understand!

The body parts she knows well:
Hair
Ears
Toes
Belly Button
Nose
Mouth, Teeth, Tongue
Knee
Bum
Fingers

Elizabeth has a contagious smile that always makes us laugh! She wakes up happy and ready to play, unless you woke her up too early, then she will need a minute. She loves books and baby dolls and skyping with Grandma T. She loves to dance and listen to music and walk around saying tickle tickle while wiggling her fingers and chasing Mark! She also loves a good dress. Every Sunday we get her dressed for church and she holds up her dress and walks around like a princess and can't wait for us to tell her how pretty she looks!

She enjoys the outdoors but is shy when it comes to most of the other neighborhood kids, especially boys. She loves the slide, rocks and sticks and walking around pointing at trees.
She doesn't like to get her hands too dirty although she will put rocks in her mouth and if I proceed to tell her not to she will do it non stop and her brother will join in! It's what they do all the time now, if I say the word no they will continue to do it and say no to themselves. Or they will walk over to something like the outlet and say no and look at me to see if I'm paying attention!

Elizabeth is still a picky eater. She loves cheese and fruit but everything else she will refuse or need a minute or more to try. It seems like she forgets all the time that she likes something until we finally get her to take a bite and then she will eat it just fine, slowly, but fine. She is the world's slowest eater!! She loves her milk and her bottle and could drink double the amount we give her in a day. She loves taking one long nap a day and can go up to 3 hours some days!

She is still so sweet, so smart and so cute with her brother. She will wrestle with him if she's in the mood and if he doesn't pin her down too much. She mimics so many things and is such a great cuddler! We love you Elizabeth!!!!

40 Weeks!
