Quarintined

This has been one of those weeks. When we left Canada they were teething, we got home and they were still teething and Elizabeth started with a nasty cough. It got worse and worse and I kept debating about whether to take her in. It's so hard to know sometimes! I finally took her in Wednesday and even told the nurse that I'm probably just being a paranoid first time mom but her cough was so bad, she would gag and she was sleeping A LOT. So they checked her out and she had an ear infection. Then they decided just before we left to do an RSV swab.....and it came back positive! I was trying not to freak out because I knew that this was going to be ugly and that there was a very good chance that Mark was going to get it too.
Elizabeth got better quickly but has been left with a bit of a cough that I've heard takes a while to go away. On Saturday Little Mark woke up with a horrible, horrible cough. There was no mistaking that it was croup. The barking cough was so painful for him and I felt terrible, he would cry every time he had to cough. Between the deep, dry cough and the horrible breathing he sounded like an old man who had smoked all his life! He got very little sleep last night and finally at 5 am I called the on call dr who listened to his breathing over the phone and told us to take him to the ER. So that is where he is still at with Mark. They gave him some medication that needed observation for a few hours, so hopefully they will be home soon.
I would've gone to the hospital with him but on Saturday I came down with a nasty cold that has been threatening to turn into either strep or a sinus infection. My head feels like a balloon that needs to be popped! What bad timing! It has given me even more sympathy for the babies, none of us can really take anything and we have to just wait it out. Although I get to blow my nose whenever I want (which they think is funny for some reason!). So....Mark is the lone ranger in this house, hopefully his immune system holds up for a while longer. Grandma B. is on her way over here from Eastern WA though, she has come to save us, thanks for being our hero!!
Here's our sick little girl:

And has taken a liking to my doll from when I was a baby. I need to get a better picture of the doll but my hair was literally that curly and it looks like E's is going to be just as curly!Mark has been sitting still. This never happens.
He has also started trying to undress himself:
So happy 11 month birthday today babies! If I don't get around to posting about it, forgive me, we are making sure you are alive and breathing!
