Annie at 10 months

Annie is one day shy of turning 11 months old so I am sneaking this update in just in time!!! Oops! Sorry girl. Annie is our chunky little ray of sunshine!!! She is still a happy girl, busy, but mostly happy. Since kicking her crawling into high gear she has found all sorts of things to get into. One of her favorites being anything that Mark and Elizabeth are playing with/doing!! It has been a tough learning curve, filled with lots of screaming, tears (from just about everyone), kicking, pinching, hair pulling, pushing, yelling from Little Mark saying 'NO Annie, TIMEOUT!', and very little actual sharing. It has been, well, whats the word I'm looking for here....a nightmare perhaps? going through this with the kids. It has taken a lot for me to adjust to breaking up fights with 3 instead of 2, trying to teach 2 yr olds to share and trying to keep Annie from being attacked (since she is too young to know she should not take their things:). BUT......this week seems to be going much better and I think we are all adjusting and learning. The twins do enjoy playing with her. Little Mark loves when Annie 'chases' him and he still likes to lay down on the floor and 'wrestle' with her. Elizabeth is still very thoughtful and is good at making sure she has a toy to play with. She wants her involved in lots of things, such as watching tv with them, going to parks or in the car and any other outing. Now when Annie is sad they will say 'Annie, sad.' and then come give her a kiss, which almost always makes her stop crying and they LOVE that!!
Annie will eat just about ANYTHING!!!! It is so awesome that she hasn't hit the picky toddler stage yet:) When she really loves what she's eating she will talk/sing between bites, it always makes us laugh! She loves blueberry waffles, toast with cream cheese, cantaloupe, watermelon, mac n cheese, peach yogurt, most any fruit, even prunes! She doesn't enjoy drinking water though...but has no problem nursing or taking a bottle. She is a pretty fast eater and when she is done she will either start shaking her head no, spit out the food, push the spoon away or start throwing it on the floor.
Annie LOVES music!!!! She loves to dance, sing and has even started doing the motions for twinkle, twinkle little star. Any time anyone says 'YAY!' She will clap. Today in the car she heard the Wonderpets singing their song and at the end they always say YAY and she always claps! She also loves her dolls, no surprise her favorite one sings a lullaby, but she loves all her baby dolls. Annie will play with most anything and does well playing by herself when she has to. She has an eagle eye and can spot the tiniest spec of anything on the floor and it will go into her mouth all the time, except for now she inspects it first so it usually gives me about 3 seconds to interrupt the process! One of Annie's favorite things to do is turn on the Rumba Robot and then crawl away really fast. And then go back and do it again! It's like she's playing cat and mouse with it!
Annie is getting closer to walking. Today she stood up for 3 seconds on her own, I wasn't encouraging it at all but she just let go of my leg and stood there! And then she tried it again a few minutes later so I backed up to see if she would take a step and she noticed and just fell forward. I'm sure by her 1st birthday she will have it figured out, we better all watch out for that!! She can already climb up a few stairs so we've had to start using the gate again.
Annie loves to sleep on her side or stomach. During naps I can put her down awake and she will just lay there, poke her lovey and then fall asleep. But at bedtime she likes to cuddle extra long and usually falls asleep on me. She is such a light sleeper though that most of the time she wakes up a little when I lay her down. When she's not teething and has gotten enough food during the day then she will sleep through the night, otherwise she will get up once to nurse at some random time and then she's up for the day between 6:00-6:30 am no matter what time I put her to bed!! But she always wakes up happy and smiling!
We love this girl SO MUCH!!! She truly makes us laugh and smile all day and we just can't get enough of her wrinkly nose smile! Her whole face lights up when she smiles and it's the best!! We feel so thankful she is in our family, we love you Annie girl!
Little sweet smile:
BIG SMILE!!!!!
