A promise fulfilled

>> Saturday, May 2, 2009

About a week ago I promised a giveaway here and some of you are going to either love or hate it, but here it goes anyway....
I decided to sew my own produce bags so that I no longer had to waste all those stupid plastic ones! I just put them in with my regular bag I take to the grocery store and they are really nice to have. I know some of you are not as passionate should I say about using reusable bags and that's o.k. because not only am I giving away 2 produce bags but I'm filling them with healthy alternatives!! Since I can't very well ship fruit and veggies I'm doing the next best thing and giving away some of my favorite snacks!

Nothing fancy here. I won't even judge you if you decide to use the bag to take to the beach, or store toys in, or throw it away and just eat the snacks...if you want to enter you have until the end of Cinco de Mayo (Tuesday) and you must tell me what you're favorite "healthy" snack is. Good luck!

Calling all you couponers!

>> Thursday, April 30, 2009

Whether you already coupon or have never cut one in your life or you want to see a different way to organize your shopping you must go HERE!!!! My sister 'n law is awesome and has taught and coached me along as I have learned how to coupon and she is finally expanding her skillz with a new website. It's brand new so it's still under some construction but it will help you so much. To learn more about how it works go to her couponing blog here and she will explain what it's all about. Basically it's the easiest thing in the world, trust me if I can understand it, you will!

Here is an example of how she rocks. Today I had some problems getting my $2 razor from Walgreens and she convinced me to go back in there and get my $3 off that they said they couldn't give me...and I did! And I got my razor for $2 and my husband is secretly thanking her! I can't tell you how many times I've had to email her and ask her the same question over and over again! And the cool thing is that she gets just as excited as I do everytime I save money, I told you she is unbelievable!

She also gives you a heads up on tons of freebies, whether it's magazines, food, or movies on her blog. I can't even tell you how her new website has changed me and my bank account! Thanks Karrie....now go, run away and play with her website people, you can thank me later.

I finally perfected the art that is... homemade fries.
Look at these bad boys:

Like I said, mmmm. I copied the recipe from here. Which happens to be one of my favorite blogs because I can actually cook some of the recipes she posts! It's a miracle!

And no I'm not telling you what I put on the other half of my plate o.k, so don't ask! It definetly did not start with a p and end with izza o.k.!

Coming out of mourning

>> Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Yes I have been mourning the loss of Grace and Liam but then we got new visitors and it helped. A lot. Especially since it involved the following: And this little cutie, even if she did cry every time I held her...
And especially this little "cheese" ball, he's a lot of fun Mostly it was these guys, Mark's cousin Thomas, his wife Jill and her friends name who I won't even attempt to spell but she was hilarious!

This is one of the perks of living over here, we are the perfect place to stay when you have an early morning flight! And we're so glad you guys came, we had so much fun and dare I say....it was not a waste of time?! (sorry, inside joke, I don't even know if they read my blog so actually Mark and I will be the only ones laughing)...I have more plans this week to help me come out of mourning. Stay tuned.
