Thinking

At the breakfast table this morning Elizabeth showed me what she looks like when she's thinking. So cute!!! I asked her what she was thinking about and she said " stuff about Mark" who was sitting next to her. I said Mark is pretty cool and she said " yes and so will the baby , once he comes out it will be cooler because then we can see him". So true. Then this led us down a road that I knew was coming...... She asked if the baby was going to crack open my stomach when it comes out and I said no that's not how it happens and then she asked " we'll how does the baby come out?" Oh boy! All 3 kids were listening so intently and they were concerned about if I was going to hurt so I had to tell them the truth. As awkward as it was! And I have the entire thing on video because I was recording Elizabeths thinking face! Elizabeth's face looks pretty freaked out until I tell them all that the dr gives me medicine and I don't feel anything ( not true) but this made them feel so relieved!!!

So later that day the kids all came with me to my 24 week appointment and behaved so well. They kept asking if I was going to get a shot! And sweet little Mark came to my side when I layed on the table so the dr could listen to the heartbeat and quietly asked me if i was going to be ok. Seriously so sweet!!!  

The office confirmed with a quick ultrasound that we are definitely having a boy!! We are so excited and can't wait to meet him!

Sunny happy day!

The sun came out today just as we left to meet our friends at the park! We always have so much fun with friends at the park that we typically stay for 2 hours or more!! 

The kids were destroying the house when we got home and I realized that we needed to get back outside! So we took our paints and some packing paper ( and a few rocks they found outside) and starting painting away! Mark lasted about 5 minutes. He typically likes to do things like this alone so that he can go in order of the colors and be organized... But with 2 others in there it was too hard for him. I was proud of him for not getting too frustrated ( the younger version of him would've:) and instead went inside to start his screen time (30 min of iPad, which usually means he plays angry birds!) the girls had a messy fun time and I did my best to enjoy it and just let them be!

Some days Annie thinks she doesn't need a nap but always ends or wants to end up crashing at dinner time! Tonight was no exception and she fell asleep on the kitchen floor!! Being 3 can be so rough sometimes. 

Princess time

This girl got a new princess night gown for her birthday and she finally got to wear it to bed last night! She looked UNBELIEVABLY cute!!!!!! She couldn't stop twirling and her and Elizabeth danced in their princess night gowns together. I couldn't even take how cute she looked! We LOVE this girl!

Trauma

The most terrifying thing happened last night! Mark was fixing part of our fence in the backyard and had 2 sections off. Behind our fence is a short retaining wall and then it drops off pretty steeply down into a ravine. It's always been my fear that one of us will fall down it. We were all in the backyard and I was watching little Mark very closely as he walked the short retaining wall talking about how he was walking on a cliff ( he's been obsessed with them lately). Somehow he slipped off of it right into a bush of stinging nettles!!!! He didn't roll down the hill thankfully and Mark was right there to pick him up but he was in a world of pain!! He was hysterical and bleeding from scraping his face, arm and knee. All he wanted was band aids:) we needed to get him rinsed off and I did that while Mark googled what to do. We started with aloe and then rubbed a baking soda paste all over his welts. The sucker and Cars 2 movie really helped him settle down! Then our neighbor came over with a mixture of oils and he was feeling so much better! His rash and welts went down after an hour and he didn't sleep perfectly...but he slept in my bed and I asked him every time he woke up if he was hurting and he said no. Poor Mark was out there in the dark determined to get that fence fixed!! 

This morning all he and Elizabeth could talk about was last nights accident! And he seems much better today. We are so thankful it wasn't worse!

Nesting

I guess I've hit a nesting phase at 23 weeks because I can't stand the disorganization for another minute!! This drawer started out a year or so ago as a kids area for non messy play stuff for them to use while I make dinner, clean, etc. It turned into a major junk drawer and I finally got it cleaned out and organized!! Along with the drawer above it and about 3 other cupboards in the kitchen. We've cleaned out the garage and I've organized another bin or so of kids clothes that were piled up on their closets. I feel like I've barely scratched the surface and poor Mark is exhausted from working all day and coming home to more work! Although I'm doing most of it ( according to me, and I'm the one running this blog, so that's how it's going to be!)

Sylvie

So Mark's current favorite book is called Sylvie. It's about a flamingo who eats things and changes colors, a super cute and clever book. There is a page in the book where Sylvie gets sick after eating too much and makes lots of different faces. Mark loves to try and copy these faces all the time and it's SO cute!! Here is a sampler:

Experiment

I got a new phone and I'm excited to see if it's easier to use as far as blogger goes.  Today was our last Sunday at our church building so we had to document it! Starting in July we get to meet at a brand new building and it's a good 10 minutes closer ( our current one is 20)! Today was more exhausting than usual at church...Annie decided to take her dress off twice in Nursery today! And all Mark wanted to do was run to the "stage" and sing with all the kids, since that's what they did last Sunday for Fathers Day!
