Climbers

>> Wednesday, August 3, 2011

These 2 will climb into anything and when one does it the other must follow! The problem is sometimes both don't fit, for example, Elizabeth was proud of herself for getting into our new ottoman ( I was surprised it took her a week):
And she topples over, she hasn't quite figured out how gravity works!
All this was happening while Mark was absorbed in his reading:
And then he realized he was missing out and tried to fit in too, not quite enough room! And yes they are wearing Elizabeth's Christmas pj's....we ordered a new washer and it didn't get to us until yesterday, so we were running out of clothes! Good thing it's not too hot here and good thing he can make anything look manly! To be fair I did make Elizabeth wear a pair of his shorts the day before.
One of their favorite places to climb in and play, even if it means that neither one of them can reach the toys!
We are going to a family reunion today and my hope is to post daily about it...but I may be too busy having fun to do that! If so, we'll see you all next week, well actually it's more like you will see us, ya.

The Swimming Pool!

>> Tuesday, August 2, 2011

It has finally warmed up a little bit here, meaning we have made it past 70 degrees and so we went and bought a little pool for the kids. Before bringing it outside we played with it inside a little bit. I stole this idea from a blog and it was actually a good one, not like the previous bag of gel! I didn't take it as far as she did because I didn't have time but here is my 5 min version:
Then we took it outside! It was pretty much the best thing ever, like a glorified bath tub only they can splash and empty out as much water as they want and they can get in and out as often as they want!
Getting in and out:
He thought it was hilarious to get water in his cups and then throw the water on himself or on the deck:
Splashing:
Meanwhile...Annie and I were having our own fun inside the screen door:
And blowing bubbles:

A day with Mickey & Minnie

>> Monday, August 1, 2011

Last year the twins Aunt Katie gave them these adorable outfits and they finally fit!! Thanks Katie, they looked ADORABLE and gave us a really great photo opp! Too bad they won't fit them in a couple years when we come to stay and go to Disneyland, haha!!

Checking each other out:
Hello Mickey!!
And hello Minnie!! (I just happened to have a matching hair bow thanks to Aunt Anna)
We also spent Saturday doing a lot of unpacking in the morning and then having fun in the afternoon after naps. Below Mark is supposed to be heading up for his nap but decided he would rather hang out on the steps and soak up a little bit of that sun we don't get enough of:
He sat by himself and then wondered around downstairs for a good 20 minutes (I guess he wanted some 'alone' time, something he doesn't get much of:). While he was enjoying himself the rest of us were hard at work in the master bathroom....tearing up the floor!!!
By the rest of us I mean mostly Mark! We were all excited though to start our first project at the house and Elizabeth really wanted to help Daddy out too:
We will give you an after shot, don't worry..I just don't know when that after shot will be, our 'free' time around here is limited! We have gotten really good at prioritizing our time though, always a good skill to hone. After naps we went to the twins new favorite park that has a HUGE sand box! They love it so much it's the only thing they play in and they could stay in it for hours if we let them!
Again, I just happened to have a new cute hat that matched her outfit thanks to Grandma T, Elizabeth was having a pretty fashionable day! We stayed at the park about an hour or so and she sat in that spot pretty much the entire time, digging, staring and then digging some more! Little Mark went straight to the middle of the sand box and starting digging and staring too, he moved around a little bit more and tried to make friends with a little girl who had lots of shovels and buckets....he charmed her by throwing sand at her, not the smoothest move but it worked! Annie and I sat in the shade while she tried unsuccessfully to sleep. She is such a light sleeper, poor girl!!
